It is discussed that About 28000 tons Poppy seeds have been imported from Turkey, China and Czech Republic. The election in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled in November 2023 and Parliamentary Central Election to be held in 2024. The Government wants to increase the production of Indian Poppy seeds to support the Indian farmers, this is the high priority of the Government for the years to come. It is made very very clear by the Minister and Top Officials in the meeting that they will support long suffering Indian farmers.
With this above Scenario it is very clear that there will be no import of Poppy seeds from any country until July 2024. Therefore it is very clear and wise to stay invested in Poppy Seeds because there will be no import until July 2024.
